Chocolate lovers unite! The Christmas baking has begun! So how many ways are you baking with chocolate this holiday season? Me? That's all I can think of. Chocolate Chip Cookies is the basic in our family. Not Christmasy at all, but essential. Chocolate Crinkles with a little crushed candy cane on top were baked this morning. Then Peanut Butter Pinwheels, a peanut butter cookie with melted chocolate chips swirling in the center. Anna Marie made No-Bake Chocolate Drop Cookies, with cocoa, oatmeal, peanut butter, etc. Then let's not forget the Hershey's Kisses and the colorful Christmas M&Ms!
Hmmm, what will we bake next? Any ideas? What are your favorites, chocolate or otherwise?
It all sounds wonderful and I'm sure smells delicious too. Dolly and I will be right over!
I just love good old peanut M&Ms :D
Ok, lady...you just pushed me over the edge of your baking pan. I don't have a single piece of chocolate in this entire house and I am a chocoholic! I am tempted to lick the computer screen..already trying to smell them!
No way, Jose. You can't just post pics without recipes. I NEED THOSE CHOCOLATE CRINKLES IN MY BELLY.
I look forward to your re-posting of this, recipes included.
The Eagle Brand Easy Fudge is a must at our house every year. Also, peanut butter bon bons....it tastes like a Reese's with dark chocolate! Yum! And I like to dip the bottoms of the coconut macaroons in the dark chocolate, too. Yeah....can't have enough chocolate! :o)
I am not a big chocolate fan so I am no help. I used to bake many, many cookies each Christmas season. I would set aside a whole weekend. Up to 21 different kinds. Then make up trays of them to take to work and for my husband to take to work and for gifts. I can't do it any more.
The chocolate cookies are one of my favorite Christmas cookies. Your batch looks perfect.
I want a cookie... and I haven't even had breakfast yet! ;) Almond cookies are the favorite at Chez Goodneedle... I'd better preheat the oven.
I just love chocolate anyway you make it. And, any cookie that I can stick in my mouth. I'm so bad!!!
Our annual cookie-bake starts in a few short hours - and all my chocolate is on the counter ready to go!
My mother has been making those chocolate cookies every year at Christmas for over 45 years. Her recipe came from a friend and she called them 'Chocolate Icebox Cookies'. My mom freezes the dough in stead of refrigerating it because the dough is easier to handle when it is super cold.
I would just have a tin with a sampling of all of them, please and thank you!! :D I hope that all of you are finding some peace and comfort, along with the chocolate and a quilt or two. Tightest of hugs, love and peace, dear Marcie.
I think my favorite are the Magic Cookie Bars - with graham crackers, coconut, nuts, chocolate chips and Eagle brand milk. Or maybe Snickerdoodles - which are not chocolate. Or peanut butter - again not chocolate. Oh heck. I just LOVE cookies *s*
I don't dare bake much for Christmas unless we have somewhere to take them, or if company is coming. Husband and I have no willpower when it comes to chocolate or anything baked.
Our oldest family favorite is a cookie that looks like your Chocolate Crinkles but with a chunk of maraschino cherry on top. We usually go for quick-and-done treats like chocolate covered peanuts and other no-bake treats. It's funny. I have more time now, but I spend less time in the kitchen. My quilting keeps calling me away from the stove and sink.
