THANKSGIVING

At this time of year some people like to bring up stories about how difficult relations were between the Indians and the Pilgrims, how Thanksgiving is just a big sham. Many historical accounts have survived that depict times when Indians and Whites lived together in harmony. So many times we focus on the negative. Thanksgiving offers us an occasion to focus on the things for which we are grateful. The First Thanksgiving gives us an example to aspire to, as people from two different cultures came together to share a meal and celebrate the harvest. Maybe the Thanksgiving story has reached mythical proportion, but isn’t it a wonderful story? If we could re-write history, wouldn’t we love to say, “And they lived happily ever after”?

There is an expression that I like and it is called THE LAW OF THE HARVEST. It seems especially relevant this time of year. Essentially it means, "We reap what we sow”. If it is our desire to live in peace among our fellow men, and even in our own family, what are the seeds we must sow?

Maybe that is something we could focus on for a while this Thanksgiving.

Great thoughts, Marcie. Great relationships don't just happen, we have to work on them.

We do have much to be grateful for, don't we?

Hi Marcie,
Thanks for coming to visit me at my blog and for the sweet comments. I love all the quilts on your blog and the photos of the quilt shop. It makes me miss the quilt shop that I use to work in...it seems like yesterday, but it has been 15 years ago.

You ask if I was going to list any of my items on etsy...I plan to list some of my goodies that I have left from the show on my etsy shop, on eBay, and on my selling blog.(which you can get to from my blog) I hope to list them sometime this coming week, but I also need to get my Christmas decorations up...so it might take me a week or so to get everything listed on-line. The show is going well, but they are saying we might get freezing rain over night...so I'm not sure what the show will be like tomorrow. But as of right now, I still have lots of goodies left. You didn't mention what it was that you were interested in...if you let me know, I can tell you if I still have any.

Take care and I'll be back to visit you again soon.
Cindy
