THE APRON HAS LANDED!

You may recall that my granddaughter is attending BYU in Provo, Utah. She is pictured here hard at work in the school library. Oh that girl!

Well, her long awaited apron finally arrived! She also needed silverware, pots and pans, etc. So Grandma packed a very heavy box. The post office wanted $35 bucks to mail it Priority, so I opted for the $20 road trip. She loves the apron, and I finally get to show it off on my blog. Such fun! This is apron #3 that I have made, and each one gets constructed better than the last. The first one I made according to package directions. The second one I faced the bib and shoulder strap, and top stitched the bias binding. For this one I added a little more ruffle, along with the other improvements. Also, I skipped the bias binding and added tiny rick-rack. Isn't it very 1940's?

If you missed the first two aprons, they are pictured HERE, in another post.

Have a happy day! ~Marcie

my two roommates love it, and they want you to make aprons for them next, hehe!
it's so beautiful, I could probably buy an apron like that (but not quite as cute, or as well sewn) at a store like Anthropology for like 50 even 60 dollars. In fact, I saw them and the only thing that stopped me from buying one (beside my light wallet) was the promise that I had one in the making!

Hi Marcie--just found your blog and in reading thru some of your earlier, as well as current, posts I found that we have several things in common: Even tho I've never lived in WA I did spend the summer between 11th and 12th grades there with friends and my older brother and his family live there now. I too have children that live in MN and AZ as well as CA and UT. You have a grandchild at BYU and I happen to live about 5 minutes from there---and then there's quilting---BTW the aprons are adorable;)

Love the apron! The girl is pretty, too. =) I've been scrolling down, reading the posts I missed recently. Love that red/white/blue quilt you made and congratulations on having your patterns be so popular at Quilt Odyssey!
