MORE 30'S

Thought I would pop in another baby quilt for show and tell. This was made using up some 30's scraps. I love the good old Churn Dash block. It looks good in any fabric style. I hand quilted this just to keep my hands busy. It is a poly batt, so the quilting was easy going. This weekend has been gray and overcast. Feels kind of nice, actually. It looks like it should be cool out, but it is not. My daughter is here and we spent time working a a big block quilt for her that used up lots of pastels. She is happy with that. It is supposed to be a summer quilt for her bed, but if it gets finished for this summer, I will be surprised. It is nice to have something to work on together, although while I am working on hers my mind is drifting to my own projects. There are projects in process that are haunting me.

the memories you create working together on the quilt will warm your daughter's heart for more than a few summers...

Sweet quilt---good that your daughter is able to sew with you and pick the fabrics that she enjoys.

I love the colors in this quilt - so soft, so comforting. It's great to be able to share your quilting with your daughter.

I just finished pinbasting a quilt using this pattern! I couldn't remember the name of the block. Thanks!
My colors were much bolder - deep red, deep navy blue, and a light yellow. I'm going to look at that picture again to see how you quilted yours.

yep, you can never go wrong with a basic block in 30's fabrics, very cute. And how fun to sew with your daughter. I wish my own daughters had more time, maybe some year. In the meantime, it's sewing with the granddaughter. :)

Churn Dash is one of my favorite blocks. And you're correct. It looks great done in any color/style fabrics. Yours is certainly warm and cheery.

It's wonderful that you and your daughter are making these memories together.
The Churn Dash block is a classic and you've done a great job in the 30s fabric.

Very nice churn dash blocks into a very nice top Marcie!! I love the colored centers rather than that old background white!

I think it's fun to keep your hand in by quilting on every once in a while by hand. I like a poly batt best for that...*VBS*
