Post Toasties

Does anyone remember that cereal called Post Toasties? Is it still around? I have no idea, but that title came to mind as the weather turned on us last night! I went to bed and snuggled under my electric blanket (don't tell the girls at Primitive Quilts and Projects, but my bedroom is not that primitive)! The wind was battering the house and snow was falling. Snow--here in Virginia Beach. That does not thrill me. So I am being lazy and staying toastie while I post on my blog. Now do you get it?

I made an attempt to put things away in my sewing room. It is a mess. I know I don't have to explain to you quilters how this happens. It is really time for a knock down, drag out fabric fight. In the immortal words of Scarlett O'Hara, "I can't think about that right now. If I do, I'll go crazy. I'll think about that tomorrow."

Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival is coming our way in a week. The shops are all gearing up in preparation for lots of traffic from out of towners. It is always exciting around here. I have been getting ready also. I am introducing three new patterns. I worked on these while I was in Arizona and have been writing directions and preparing covers.
 Tinder Box 38" sq, Hickory Sticks 19" x 26", Diamond in the Rough 60" x 80"
The covers are on order and the directions are in the works. These will be up on my website soon. Hope you like them!

I can't say I ever heard of Post Toasties but boy do I hear ya about the chill of the Winter blast that finally arrived. Thank goodness Spring is here in 6 weeks. Oh and as for bedding...toasty mattress pad, topped with warm down from Germany makes you just want to stay in bed nice and cozy.
Your NEW patterns are absolutely beautiful...I'm partial to the first one though...oh so cute. What are the sizes of the quilts?

How exciting to have new patterns! I remember Post Toasties but don't think I ever liked them; however, your version of them (posting while staying toasty) sounds like a lot of fun!

According to Wikapedial, the cereal was discontinued in 2006 but re-introduced in 2010. So ask at the grocery store. I never ate them.

I do remember Post Toasties; but then, I am OLD. However, not too old for shopping and re-connecting at Mid Atlantic... I'll be looking for some new patterns. :)

Yep, this here "oldy-moldy" DOES remember Post Toasties...and Gone With The Wind...thaz one of meee favorite movies.

With regards to a messy sewing room...I DO understand. Sometimes, I think fabric, and projects have legs of their own. Either they come out after I've put them away...or they go hide so that i can't find them =P

I hate to admit it but I remember Post Toasties. I'm not sure I ever ate them though.

I'll be in Hampton on the 23rd. :-)

I've never seen a box of Post Toasties, but some of the old shows we like to listen to on satellite radio were sponsored by them. We have fun trying to figure out which companies and products are still around.

My mom always bought Kellogg's Corn Flakes for us where I grew up in Western New York but mom's parents always had Post Toasties at their house in Pennsylvania - and there was something I liked better about those. I think the flakes were bigger, too. I bought them a few times and the only size boxes I ever recall seeing were humongous!

Thank you for the posting. The cereal box likeness is great to see : ^ ) Me like'm. Yum!
