IT'S TRUE, WE GOT SNOW!

Let me introduce INCA GOLD! You have seen pieces of this as I have been constructing it, and now it is completed and off to the quilter this week. This picture shows just a portion of it hanging on the deck. It is actually 69" x 89". This is my first full sized quilt this year, and my quilter actually has another one that I finished piecing last year but have not yet revealed. Hopefully I can show you both before too long!

And look! Snow right here in Virginia Beach, VA! We have lived here for ten years and never had more than a dusting of snow. This is our side yard, and below the snow laden branches on the live oak tree in the front yard. I think we got at least five inches at our house.

And in case you were expecting me to run down to the beach for a photo, forget it! I have not left the house! In fact, if you look real close you can see the screen on the windows from shooting the camera out the windows! I am a native of the northern clime and I know snow, and I don't need to shake hands with it. Been there, done that!

The storm seems to have picked up speed by the time it got to your house. Love the new quilt. Great colors.

Oh and here I thought we were going to get snow on the beach! I can't blame you for not venturing to far. We are snowed in. The roads in our neighborhood are not salted nor plowed and hilly...a frozen sheet of ice. The poor mail lady got stuck yesterday. Schools closed tomorrow. I've enjoyed the snow from the view inside my comfy cozy house.
Your quilt is delightful...anxious to see them quilted up and brought to life as I say! :0)

Love the quilt -- hate the snow. We started seeing it way too early this winter, and it's been nasty off and on now for 2 months. I shudder to think there are 2 more months with the potential for more snow & frigid temps.
Hopefully your snow cover will disappear quickly, and it'll just be a bad memory.

Your Inca Gold quilt looks wonderful! The red sashing/borders adds so much. It's very stiking.

Your Inca Gold is beautiful. I can't wait to see it quilted...you can keep all that snow up there. I like to see pictures but don't want to be the one taking them..Brrrr, it just looks cold to me. I'm with you, stay inside and stay warm and toasty with your quilts. hugs from a little warmer state, Linda

You sure as heck did get snow.

Marcie, Inca Gold is absolutely totally amazing. What a beautiful combination of fabrics you have there and just the perfect name for the pattern, too. And a perfect size.

Beautiful. The entire post, really.

I love your Inca Gold! Congrats on your first quilt of the year! We have about 5 inches of snow from the same storm you had. No school today. It has turned to ice here. I don't mind the snow, but I hate the ice!!
